Privacy Policy
Effective date: February 2026
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to run the Service:
- Uploaded documents. Brief drafts (DOCX / PDF / TXT) and Clerk's Records (PDF) that you submit for formatting.
- Case metadata you enter. Docket number, party names, judicial district, county, judge, and attorney contact information you type into the optional Case Info form.
- Payment metadata. Stripe returns to us a transaction ID, amount, and payment status. We do not receive or store your card number, CVV, or full billing address.
- Anonymous analytics. PostHog collects aggregate page views and click events. No personally identifiable information is captured by default.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To process your document with Google Gemini and return a formatted brief.
- To enable download after payment is confirmed by Stripe.
- To debug errors and improve the Service.
3. Third-Party Services
Your document content is transmitted to the following providers under their respective terms:
- Google (Gemini API). The Service sends your brief text to Google Gemini for reformatting. See Google's AI/ML policies.
- Stripe. Payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- PostHog. Anonymous product analytics.
4. Data Retention
Uploaded briefs and records are stored temporarily to enable the preview and download flow. We periodically purge stored documents. Attorney profile data you enable via "Remember me" is stored only in your browser's local storage — never on our servers — and you can clear it anytime with the "Clear" button on the upload page.
5. Confidentiality & Attorney Work Product
The Service is a formatting utility. It is not a substitute for a compliant law-firm document-management system. Do not upload confidential client information you are not authorized to disclose to third-party AI processors. If your document contains privileged material, remove or redact it before uploading.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser local storage to remember your attorney profile (only when you check "Remember me"). PostHog sets analytics cookies. No advertising cookies are used.
7. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your uploaded briefs and any associated payment metadata by contacting us. Because we don't require accounts, we may ask for the brief ID(s) or the email you used at Stripe checkout to identify your records.
8. Children
The Service is intended for use by adult legal professionals. It is not directed at children under 13.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance.
10. Contact
